PROFILE

SHORT BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Anisha Noori Kakon, is a Professor in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning at Jahangirnagar University, Savar, Dhaka, Bangladesh. She joined at the same department as a Lecturer in 2006. Dr. Kakon obtained her PhD degree in Urban Design from the Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Saga University, Japan in 2010. Earlier she completed Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning (BURP) and Master of Urban and Regional Planning (MURP) from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). In 2015, she served as a Visiting Associate Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Saga University, Japan. Her research interests focus on Urban Planning, Climate-sensitive Urban Planning and Design, Environmental Planning, and Urban Governance. Dr. Kakon published a number of research articles in the reputed international and national journals and attended several international research conferences. She is a member of Bangladesh Institute of Planners (BIP).
