PROFILE

SHORT BIOGRAPHY

Pappu Kumar Dey is an Associate Professor (on study leave) in the Department of Accounting and Information Systems at Jahangirnagar University. He is currently a PhD candidate in Accounting and Finance at the University of Newcastle, Australia, and has been awarded the RTP Scholarship for this study. He holds a master's in Economic Policy from GRIPS, Tokyo, Japan; an MBA in Accounting, and a BBA (Honors) in Accounting from the University of Dhaka. For his academic excellence, he was awarded Dean’s Merit and Dean's Honor.

Before joining Jahangirnagar University, Pappu held academic positions at Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University and Daffodil International University.

His research focuses on the interplay of accounting and financial economics and his research interest broadly includes corporate sustainability, corporate environmental and social responsibility, and their disclosures and performance. His publications have appeared in International Journal of Disclosure and Governance, Asian Journal of Accounting Research, Asian Journal of Accounting Perspectives, among others.
